Inspecting containers out of habit

The adventurous senior man from the care home is actually obsessed with garbage containers and he has cultivated a habit of inspecting them in a casual way (he thinks). This morning he dug up an old DAB radio that looked intact and he smuggled it into his apartment, hidden in his trolley.

It's amazing what stuff people are disposing these days, because after a provisional cleanup the DAB radio turned out to work fine. He quickly found his favourite music station and connected a noise cancelling headphone to virtually eliminate the world around him (including his upstairs living parasite neighbour).
