The restless (reckless) senior man from the care home has gone out for a walk ignoring the drizzly weather, mainly to escape the care staff, and he discovers a vandalized teleport at the outskirts of the city. And guess what, he can't resist installing himself inside and pressing the button despite a warning note.
Luckily the teleport appears to have a limited reach so he lands only 100 yards further down the road behind a fence. Looking back he can still see it nearby, but he feels dizzy and bifurcated, and wonders if the care home would still recognize him as inhabitant after this hobbled transformation.
