This small house from wood is 3.5 meters wide. Series of these houses are constructed in a factory and transported to the desired location by truck. The solar panels are generating enough electricity to make it self-supporting, surplus energy is fed to the grid or it can be used to charge a car. The unit pictured here is a demo-house, with volunteers living in it for 6 months by turns.

A new district is currently under development in this area (photo 3) and the demo-house is a symbol for the (larger) houses to be built. They all have solar panels and underground thermal energy storage for heating and cooling.
