Refrigerated containers are used for shipping temperature sensitive goods but in this case they are permanently installed near a research institute for food safety (photo 1, 2). I guess the institute has a lot of food samples and results from analyses so this might be a system to keep them conserved. Nearby is also a liquid nitrogen installation, perhaps for backup cooling or otherwise related (photo 3, 4).
