Transformer station 1
Small transformer station on dump site

Transformer houses or stations are usually tucked away to be as invisible as possible, but they are often designed together with the surrounding housings so, they can be interesting from an architectural point of view.

Therefore from now on I'll give them some more attention where appropriate. Photos will have the title 'Transformer station' followed by a serial number.

The purpose of a transformer station is to convert high voltage power from the grid to a lower voltage suitable to be distributed in the district where it is situated, or locally to an industry which needs plenty of power.

In the example above the station serves as a reference point for dumping garbage, which is symbolic for its humble status.
