Demolition 1
The final days of an apartment complex

These photos are documenting the pull-down of an apartment complex to be replaced by a new housing estate.

The location is visited every 2 weeks to take some photos and until now it matches the progress they make. It seems they are adapting the 'slow dismantle' method so fingers crossed they aren't planning to blow up the building in one day. Results will be shown in subsequent articles.

I'm told the holes in the sides of the building (photo 2) were made to get rid of bats who are housing in de hollow walls. They can only pull the building down when they leave at their discretion, because it's a protected animal.

Most low-raise buildings at ground level are already destroyed (Photos 4 and 5). All the materials, like stone, wood, iron from the concrete, etc. are separated and reused.
