This monumental fire escape is hiding under an extension of the roof suggesting it's just as important as the building itself. The concrete structure is kept lean though, to make it fairly transparent.

The structure is really big for a simple fire escape. What's more, there are two of them, at both ends of the building (photo 1 left side, photo 2..4 right side).
