In this series some photos from an area that is cleared from old buildings and leftover fundaments.
The area pictured here contained several industrial buildings that were pulled down several years ago but it was left empty ever since, except for one building at the outside (photo 1, taken earlier) [1].

Photo 1 shows a smooth plane which is about 150 meters long and wide (500x500 ft), but beneath it's surface are still the fundaments of the buildings that were removed earlier.
Recently a contractor started pulling down the remaining building and to remove some of the concrete top plates to take a look at the older fundaments, which probably caused some head scratching (Photo 2).

In the next part 'Clearance 2' from this series some photos of the backside of the plane with one section of the remaining building still in place just before it was demolished.
