Painterly images can be done with a camera too when you have a suitable object optionally combined with post-processing. This B/W image is a crop from a TV-still and painted in with yellow, emulating transparent retouching colors on a print.

The original image had some black and white stripes in it, which was an opportunity to make wasp-parts from it. The fuzziness of this image leaves something to the phantasy of the observer, like a painting that is set up with only basic strokes and touches.
