Ridged galleries
Scaffolding implemented as design feature

 
This mixed use apartment complex, with commercial space on ground level, has galleries with a ridged lattice attached to the front, as a kinda enhanced scaffold structure.

The complex consists of two separate buildings A and B connected by the galleries, acting as a multiple bridge.

The bridge is more a design feature than a practical solution I guess, unless your friends are living in the other building. Perhaps it's intended as a fire escape too.

The main building (photo 3) is covered by an extensive construction with Perspex panels on the left side (only partly visible here). It has only a decorative function.
