Building debris
Remains of buildings left alone for years

Places with building debris get more character as they grow older. Weeds and small trees are taking over, weathering takes its toll, and the fences that surround them are getting rusty. Some of those areas remain virtually unchanged for years as if local time has been stopped mysteriously.

1..3. This garage in the centre of the city was pulled down more than 20 years ago, but they didn't finish their job and much of the debris is still there. Numerous buildings in other parts of the city were pulled down and replaced, but this site is left unchanged for eons and nobody knows why.

The back-end of this shop hasn't been opened for a long time. In the summer weeds are growing up against the walls, and in the winter they die again. The entrance is blocked by a pile of stones, not exactly an invitation to take a look inside.

This large area in an industrial zone (with a length at least 10 times the width shown here) has been cleared but they didn't dig up the foundations. Parts of it are patched afterwards with concrete plates, bricks and gravel and a lot of rubbish is wandering around.
